BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF PRAYER!

“Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
Mark 4:40
Some people think that prayer is a weak substitute for strategic action. They feel that prayer is the last resort when you have tried everything else and have nothing else to do. But, the reality is diametrically opposite to their thinking. In fact, without prayer we can do nothing at all. My life itself is a classic example to the fact that prayer works wonders. When medical science had done all it could but with no results, the prayers of my wife, children, relatives and the servants of God brought me back to life from the fatal illness I suffered. Prayer brings hope in hopelessness. Prayer brings healing in sickness. Prayer brings harmony in chaos. Prayer brings peace in turmoil.
You might have left the habit of prayer long back. Probably, some of your prayers are not answered and you are disappointed. Or you may think you are unworthy to come to God and say a prayer. Or simply you do not believe in prayer – just because some of your long time prayers were unanswered inspite of your sincerity in prayer. Job, the man who was applauded by God in the first chapter of the book of Job, had similar feelings. He cried in despair saying” My complaint is bitter. O only if I know where I can find Him. …I go forward he is not there. I go backwrd and I could not find Him…” Yes, God seems distantly far sometimes. But that doesn’t mean that He doesn’t hear our prayers. As I said, when circumstances showed that God was not near in my life, prayers proved that He sure was and is and will be!
Dear friends, in today’s text, when the disciples cried unto Jesus, He rebuked their lack of faith, and their fear. Then He rebuked the sea. Problems ceased. Halleluiah! Our God is a powerful God. Our God is a prayer answering God. Irrespective of what we think of God and of prayer, the fact does not and will not change. The Psalmist says, in Psalm 65: 2”O You who hear prayer, To You all flesh will come.” Get rid of your doubts; fears and preconceptions. Come; pray and receive answers.
Say this PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, sometimes I feel I am unworthy to come to You with my prayer requests. Today, I have learnt that when I come to You with absolute faith, You hear me and answer me always. Thank You for the assurance. Amen.
